ELLIOTT ROSS
OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a 6-0, 190-pound junior
left-hander from Cleves, Ohio, has been selected the SCAC Baseball
Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 28 through
Sunday, April 3.
Ross tossed a two-hit complete game (9.0 innings)
shutout to lead the Tigers to a 9-0 win over SCAC rival
Oglethorpe. Ross retired the first 23 batters
he faces on his way to striking out 13 in earning the win. He
walked just one batter during his nine-dominant innings.
Ross also pitched two innings in relief March
29 against Franklin. In those two innings he struck out two while
scattering four hits and did not yield a walk. For the week, Ross
did not allow a single run in 15 innings of work, struck out 15 and
tallied a 0.47 WHIP (walks + hits/innings pitched).
