BRENDAN PILGER
OF OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY, a 6-0, 215-pound senior
outfielder from Decatur, Ga. has been named the SCAC Offensive
Baseball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, March 14
through Sunday, March 20.
Pilger was dominant in guiding Oglethorpe to four
straight wins. He was 7-of-14 (.500) at the plate with a whopping
11 runs scored and five RBI, including the game-tying knock against
No. 3 Wisconsin Stevens-Point.
He hit two homeruns and five doubles, drew four walks and stole six
bases to push Oglethorpe above the .500 mark (9-7) for the first
time this season.
Pilger tallied a 1.200 slugging percentage along with an astounding .579 on-base percentage for a 1.779 OPS (On-base plus slugging) during the week. He hit safely in all four games this past week.
