Dodd's passion has been funneled toward the Southwestern Organic Garden where the is part of a team that grows organic fruits and vegetables and then donates those goods to various food pantries around Georgetown.

"Volunteering gives my life more meaning," shares Dodd. "Being able to volunteer and use my strength from sports and teamwork to benefit others, as well as my academic endeavors, to act is really important to me."

An act Dodd has done as her reach around the community extends from the garden to a huge number of people in need. Dodd also spends time with the Ride on Center for Kids, Meals on Wheels and the Caring Place.

"As an athlete I work really hard to become better, faster, stronger and anytime we can take that strength outside of the weight room and practice and use it in a garden to rip up some ground, move dirt and ride a bike to take that produce to Meals on Wheels that extends your relationships to another level and you can use your workout and strength to do things others can't do."

Through her wide variety of volunteering, Dodd shared some valuable advice to future student-athletes. "Try everything out and find that one group that really speaks to you. I have learned to never underestimate anyone, especially myself, and that there is always more work to be done, you just have to go find it."
