DOLORES
JOHNSON OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a junior on the
women's swimming team from Frisco, Texas, has been selected
the SCAC Character & Community Female
Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending January 15,
2012.
Johnson has not only been one of the team's
strongest competitors since arriving on campus but has also been
active both in the Austin College and Sherman community. In
addition to being a strong student and swimmer,
Johnson is a member of the Kappa Gamma Chi
sorority and a member of the Student Development Board Greek
Council, serving as that organization's secretary.
Johnson has also been active with several
community efforts in Sherman, helping to organize a 5K 'Roo Run
benefiting Grayson County's Grand Central Station Habitat for
Humanity, as well as an art show benefiting the Boys and Girl's
Club of Sherman. She has also helped to organize the Purple
Reign Masquerade benefiting the Grand Central Station Habitat for
Humanity during her time at Austin College.
