BRIDGET
COLEMAN OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY,
a senior from Quincy, Mass., has been selected the SCAC
Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for
the week ending March 6, 2011.
Coleman has earned three varsity letters and
started the last two seasons as a back for the DePauw women's
soccer team with two goals and four assists. Both of her goals were
game-winners as well. In that time, she's earned the team's Best
Attitude Award three times and was part of a senior class which
earned the team's Tiger Award.
Off the field, Coleman serves on DePauw's
Student Athlete Advisory Committee and is vice-president of S.A.V.E
(Student Athletes Volunteering Everywhere). The Environmental
Science major is a member of the DePauw Environmental Club and has
volunteered her time with the Environmental Protection Agency in
Boston. She's also served as a mentor to students at Ridpath
Elementary School in Greencastle.
Coleman has been active as volunteer in her
hometown where she assisted in the teaching of basic English skills
to young children and helped children develop their soccer skills
through various clinics.
