BRYCE FRANK OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior forward from Granbury, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, February 4 through February 10. It marks the fifth time this season Frank has earned the honor.
Frank tied the SCAC career double-doubles record as the ‘Roos went 2-0, averaging 21.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per game while notching the 51st and 52nd double-doubles of her career. The senior drained 16 points and grabbed 16 boards while handing out four assists in a win over Johnson & Wales to open up the weekend, and followed that up with a 27-point, 12-rebound performance in a win over Colorado College in her final game in Hughey Gym. Frank also shot 67.9 percent from the field in the two victories.
Other Outstanding Performances:
Trinity junior forward Abby Holland led the way for the Tigers in their win over Southwestern with 22 points while adding nine rebounds. Sophomore forward Abby Hroch of Texas Lutheran contributed 15 points and seven rebounds, guiding the Bulldogs to victory over Dallas. Schreiner freshman forward Yasmine Argunio collected 16.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game over the Mountaineers two-game week. Sophomore forward Bre Frierson led Centenary to two wins over the weekend scoring 14.0 points and securing 5.5 rebounds per game. Junior center Cecily Woolfolk of Southwestern produced a 24-point, seven rebound effort in the Pirates’ loss to Trinity. Colorado College sophomore guard McKenzee Gertz averaged 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last week.
