LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Six of the league's seven men's cross country teams competed this past Saturday.
Texas Lutheran, Trinity and Schreiner were at the Incarnate Word Invitational where the trio finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively, among non-NCAA Division I competition.
TLU senior Rudolph Calderon led the Bulldog pack with a 20th-place finish among non-NCAA DI runners in a personal-best 8K time of 27 minutes, 57 seconds. Competing with a partial squad, Trinity first-year runner Jack Powers (28:38) and David Buss (28:43) led the Tiger runners in 29th and 31st place, respectively. Freshman Joseph Harben led Schreiner with a 33:37 finish.
Southwestern and Austin College were in action at the East Texas Baptist Invitational. The Pirates finished fourth among the eight teams who scored. Austin College did not have enough runners to score. Southwetern sophomore Joshua Im continued his terrific season with an fourth place finish in the 8K event, running 27:15.4 with an average mile of 5:29.8.
Running against a field of Division II institutions, Colorado College finished in 18th place in the "Gold" bracket at the Fort Hays State Open Saturday in Victoria, Kan. Sophomore Tony Calderon led the Tigers for the second time this season, finishing in 75th-place overall. He covered the 8K course in 27 minutes, 14 seconds.
