COLIN UECKER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Kerrville, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competition played through Tuesday, September 12.
Uecker paced the Bulldogs with a second-place individual finish at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational. He fired a final round 70 (1-under) and finished the tournament at 1-under 212. Uecker posted scores of 70, 72 and 70 over the two-day event. TLU finished third in the nine-team field.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Thomas Schuberg of the University of Dallas notched a personal-best 70 in the final frame to give him the best finish individually by a UD golfer with a 215 at the TLU John Bohmann Memorial Invitational. He tied for seventh individually and also matched UD Hall of Famer Dan Cruse for the lowest three rounds score. Senior Jacob Gentry of Schreiner University fired a three-round total of 214, which included a tournament-low 66 (-5) in Tuesday's third round, to lead the Mountaineers to a sixth-place finish at the John Bohmann Memorial Tournamet. Senior Tyler Gammill of Southwestern University led the Pirates with a two-under-par 214 for three rounds (72-71-71), finishing seven strokes behind Will Arend of Concordia and two strokes behind Colin Uecker of Texas Lutheran to tie for third. Freshman Dawson Dally of Trinity University shot a three-round total of 1-over-par 214 at the John Bohmann Memorial, tying for third place with his performance. He shot 71-72-71, and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
