For a second-consecutive season, the Crusaders entered the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship Tournament as the No. 3 seed. In double-elimination format, Dallas fell to Centenary College of Louisiana in the SCAC Semifinals to wrap their 2013 campaign with a 20-23 (12-8 SCAC) record.
Navigating to a 23-17 mark in the 2012 season, the squad went 10-10 in conference as first-year members of the SCAC.
Holmes was named 2011 Coach-of-the-Year by the Association of Divison III Independents (AD3I), helping Dallas improve to 26-14 on the 2011 season from 16-25 a year prior.
He played a year of independent professional baseball with both the American Association's Grand Prairie AirHogs and Sioux Falls (S.D.) Canaries, and served as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2009 Dallas baseball team.
Holmes was the starting catcher for Dallas in three seasons (2006-2008), before graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
A three-time letterwinner, Holmes was named to the 2008 AD3I First Team. Garnering First Team honors in 2006 and 2007 from the United States Collegiate Athletic Assocation (USCAA), he was also a 2007 USCAA Academic All-American.
He resides in Irving with wife Sydney, and daughters Eve and Isla.
