KATY WILLIAMS
OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, senior post from Sulphur
Springs, Texas, has been named SCAC Basketball Player-of-the-Week
for games played Monday, January 18 through Sunday, January 24.
Williams averaged 17.0 points and 16.0 rebounds
while making 13-of-22 attempts from the field (.591%) and added 2.5
assists per game.
Williams had double doubles of 18 points and 11
rebounds and 16 points and 21 rebounds in a pair of wins over
Oglethorpe and Sewanee.
With 987 career rebounds, Williams is just 13
boards from becoming the second basketball player in SCAC history
to reach the 1,000 career rebounds mark. She is just 22 from
equaling the conference career mark posted by former Trinity
University all-American Krista Prato Matthews who pulled down 1,009
rebounds from 2005/06 to 2008/09.
