Trinity Women's Basketball Continues Climb in National Polls

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Trinity University women’s basketball team continued its rise in the national rankings after opening Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a pair of wins.

The Tigers (13-0, 2-0 SCAC) are now ranked No. 12 by poll and No. 15 by the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association (WBCA). In the WBCA poll, Austin College (10-4, 2-1 SCAC) is receiving six points, and is just two spots out of the top 25.

Trinity defeated Austin College Friday night at home to open the conference season. The game remained close throughout the first half, with the ‘Roos holding onto a lead through the first quarter and much of the second. Trinity created separation in the second half, finishing with a 67-54 win.

The Tigers followed that game with an 81-58 win over Centenary College on Saturday.

Trinity is one of three SCAC teams that remain undefeated in conference play. Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University also began the season 2-0. The Tigers will face off with both teams this weekend on the road.
