DePauw's Soultz Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA has awarded 58 postgraduate scholarships to student athletes in spring sports in an announcement made today. Recent DePauw University graduate Megan Soultz - three times selected as the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Year during her illustrious career - was among the honorees.

DePauw Finishes Season at 40-9 after NCAA Loss to Eastern Connecticut State
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - DePauw's run at the NCAA Division III Softball Championship came to an end this afternoon as the Tigers dropped an 8-1 decision to Eastern Connecticut State in an elimination game at Gelein Field. The Tigers finished the season at 40-9, while the Warriors improved to 38-5-1 and play later today.

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) placed 10 student-athletes on the 2010 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region teams. Pirates Upset #2 UT-Tyler in First Round of NCAA Regionals

Despite maintaining a lead through five and a half innings of play the Southwestern Pirates' softball team needed to come from behind once again in extra innings to upset the #2 team in the nation and #2 seed at the NCAA Regional, the University of Texas Tyler 3-2. SUWANEE, Ga. - With just one regular season weekend remaining before the SCAC Softball Tournament at the end of April, five of the six tournament spots have been claimed with the final spot in the Eastern division yet to be determined. DePauw's Skrenta earns career win #200 in sweep of Birmingham-Southern
GREENCASTLE, Ind. The 25th-ranked Tigers improved to 22-3 overall and 9-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Birmingham-Southern. DePauw won by scores of 4-1 and 6-1. The Panthers dropped to 21-5 overall and 12-2 in the conference. With the first game win, DePauw coach Bonnie Skrenta notched her 200th career victory at DePauw in eight seasons.

SUWANEE, Ga. - Birmingham-Southern has now won 19 straight competitions against SCAC opponents dating back to last season after picking up a four game series sweep against Rhodes this past weekend. The highlight of the series came in the first game, as sophomore pitcher Ronni Ferris threw the third perfect game in program history, and first perfect game since February 2005.

SUWANEE, Ga. - Six of the league's 11 softball teams have taken the diamond and the 2010 SCAC season is officially underway.
