SCAC Men's Cross Country Recap - Week Two

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Six of the league's seven men's cross country teams were back in action this week with only Southwestern's harriers taking a breather.

Texas Lutheran and Dallas both competed in Friday's Hardin-Simmons Invitatational with the two squads taking fifth and sixth, respectively, in the seven-team field. Freshman runner Joseph Kilmer finished in 11th in the 5K race to lead all SCAC runners.

Trinity, Austin College and Schreiner were in action the following day at the Our Lady of the Lake Collegiate Invitational. The Trinity men scored 21 points in the 8k race, leading runner-up St. Edward's (Texas) by 24 points to earn their second team title in as many weeks. It also marked the third consecutive year that the TU men have won this event.

Tiger men's runners garnered the top three slots, led by a 26:25.8 time from Colton Hawkins. Just six seconds behind was Elliot Blake, followed by Keaton Holt a few seconds later. All three now hold times in the top 20 in school history.

Austin College finished in fifth and Schreiner came in sixth in the six-team field.

Colorado College hosted its own CC Invitational on Saturday morning at Mounument Valley Park and junior David Eik and sophomore Tony Calderon led the Tiger to a sixth-place finish.

Eik posted a team-best 40th-place finish overall and was 22nd among collegiate runners by covering the 8K course in a time of 27:47.2.
