Edward Cartee, Trinity University, Men's Soccer (Defensive)

EDWARD CARTEE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from Oak Ridge N.C., has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 29 through Sunday, October 5.

Cartee led a defense that gave up just one goal in two SCAC games over the weekend, remaining unbeaten on the season.

Cartee and the Tiger defense gave up 19 total shots on the weekend, but only seven of those were on goal.  With his leadership, the team also held Colorado College to a shutout – coming against a team that came into the game averaging 4.56 goals/game on the year, and had only been shut out once.

For the season, Cartee and the defense have yielded just nine goals in 10 games, with Sunday’s shutout being the team’s second of the season.
