Rachel Watkins, Centre College, Field Hockey (Offensive)

RACHEL WATKINS OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a senior midfielder from Chicago, Ill., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, October 5 through Sunday, October 11.

Watkins from Centre College scored the game winning goal in the Colonel's 1-0 win against DePauw University and created a number of other opportunities for teammates as Centre went 2-0 on the weekend with wins over DePauw and Sewanee.

Watkins, a midfielder, played solid defense and used her speed and skill in the attack to dribble and pass around Tiger defenders as Centre outshot both opponents by a combined total of 32-8. Watkins unassisted goal just before half-time was the only goal the Colonels needed for the win.

On the season, Watkins has three goals and two assists.
