Sally Faulkner, Centre College, Field Hockey (Defensive)

SALLY FAULKNER OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a senior back from Louisville, Ky., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, October 5 through Sunday, October 11.

Faulkner scored the game winning goal against Sewanee on Sunday in addition to leading a Colonel defensive effort that allowed just eight shots in two games this past weekend.

Faulkner, a defensive midfielder, controlled the midfield on attack and defense in Centre shutout wins against DePauw and Sewanee for the second time this season.

Faulkner’s positioning, skill, and communication have been vital to the Colonels this season as they currently sit atop the SCAC standings.
