Charlie Wagner, Rhodes College, Field Hockey (Defensive)
CHARLIE WAGNER
OF RHODES COLLEGE, a junior defensive midfielder
from Madison, N.J., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, September
21 through Sunday, September 27.
Wagner played 130 minutes of great hockey on both
ends of the field this weekend. Wagner works hard
to cover the field end to end and uses her great vision and
distribution skills to clear the ball and drive the team up
field.
Wagner’s strong anticipation skills
continue to fluster opponents as does her good reach and ability to
stay in the play. Wagner has stepped up to serve a
primary role on corner defense as well this season. In addition to
her strong defensive play Wagner added a goal and
an assist in Sunday’s win over Transylvania.
With Wagner at the helm the Lynx limited
opponents to 1 goal in 140 minutes of play this weekend.
