Leah Oberst, Centre College, Field Hockey (Defensive)

LEAH OBERST OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a sophomore back from Louisville, Ky., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, September 7 through Sunday, September 13.

Oberst played two superb matches for the Centre College Colonels in consecutive shutout wins against DePauw University and Sewanee-University of the South. Oberst and the Colonels limited both opponents to 12 combined shots and controlled play throughout the majority of both matches.

Oberst, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, has been a welcome addition for the Colonels with her game intelligence and strong defensive skills.
