DALLAS, Texas - Recently, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced the members of the 2009 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a 3.2 GPA or better. A total of 564 players from 266 schools qualified for membership in the society's third year, including eight from the SCAC.
AMITY, Maine - Millsaps senior offensive lineman John Shivers and Sewanee-The University of the South junior defensive back Chalankis Brown were named to the 2009 Concensus Draft Services (CDS) Division III Preseason All-America first-teams.
GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Matt Walker, head football and baseball coach at DePauw and 1999 graduate of the University, served as the honorary starter of today's practice session for the Indianapolis 500. Walker waved the green flag to open practice at noon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after taking a pace car ride around the oval with three-time Indy 500 winner Johnny Rutherford.
