MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - On the heals of a record breaking performance last week, Birmingham-Southern College junior Shawn Morris as well as teammate Anderson Porter, were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware.
Morris set a school and conference record after he ran for 332 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers' 35-21 win over Millsaps. It marked the third time this season that Morris set a school record for single-game rushing.
It also marked just the third 300+ yard rushing game by a SCAC back in league history and shatters the former single-game mark of 305 posted by Jeremy Boyce of Trinity University in a Nov. 3, 2001 contest against Sewanee. Morris finished the season with the third most rushing yards in a single-season in SCAC history with 1,449.
Porter tallied two interceptions while chipping in with three tackles in Birmingham-Southern's win over Millsaps.
