KALEB KIRK OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior right handed pitcher from Nacogdoches, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 16th.
Kirk got the Gents' weekend off to a good start with a complete game win to open the series against Southwestern University.
Kirk allowed just four hits and one run in the 9.0 inning performance, while striking out 11 and walking one. Of his 114 pitches in the outing, 78 were strikes.
Kirk and the Gents clinched sole possession of the SCAC regular season championship with the series win over the weekend, finishing out conference play with a 15-3 record.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior right hander Josh Lewis of Austin College tossed a gem on senior day, going 7.1 innings and allowing just two hits while striking out eight. Senior left hander Chris Tate of Trinity University put the finishing touches on a shutout win in Friday's opener, striking out 10 batters over 6.0 innings of action, and allowing just four hits.
