Rhodes' Boucher selected for NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA recently announced the fall recipients of the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and Rhodes' Andy Boucher was one of thirty-seven honorees.

SUWANEE, Ga. - Birmingham-Southern College and Rhodes College combined to post a 2-1 record against Top-25 teams during the week of March 1-7. The Panthers beat #11 Adrian 9-5 while the Lynx split a pair of games with #14 Marietta (3-0 loss, 4-3 extra-inning win).

Southwestern's Seagraves and Shipp selected for NCAA Sports Forum
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern sophomore baseball player Nate Shipp and junior Shae Seagraves were selected to participate in the Career in Sports Forum sponsored by the NCAA. The duo will travel to Indianapolis May 11-14 for the educational and professional development seminars.

Baseball Recap (Week 4) - Around the SCAC
SUWANEE, Ga. - The game of the week was highlighted by a most unlikely Hendrix win over Trinity on Feb. 27. Trailing 12-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the Warriors scored six runs to avoid a run-rule loss. The defending SCAC champions then scored five times to win the game in the bottom of the ninth.

SUWANEE, Ga. - DePauw and Sewanee began their 2010 seasons during the week of Feb. 15-21. The Indiana Tigers split four games with Maryville (Tenn.) while the Tennessee Tigers suffered three losses to the LaGrange (Ga.) Panthers. Austin College & Hendrix and Millsaps & Southwestern tussled in league play as well.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The first conference contests began last week as Trinity swept three games from Austin College to improve to 6-1, 3-0 SCAC. Millsaps also had a strong start to its league schedule as the Majors improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 with wins over defending SCAC champion Hendrix.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The SCAC's two NCAA participants from 2009 started the 2010 baseball season in fashion as Hendrix (3-0) and Millsaps (3-0) combined to start 6-0 during the first week of play. All told, seven of the 11 SCAC teams began the season with Centre, DePauw, Rhodes and Sewanee set to start play before the end of the month.

Millsaps Tabbed As Preseason Favorite To Win 2010 SCAC Baseball Championship
SUWANEE, Ga. - In exclusive voting by the head coaches in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), Millsaps College was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2010 SCAC baseball championship. Head coach Jim Pages Majors received seven of the 11 coaches first-place votes followed by Trinity University with the remaining four first-place votes.

Millsaps' Hawkins named D3baseball.com Preseason All-American
STERLING, Va. - For the third consecutive year, a Millsaps College Major was named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-American team. Junior infielder Will Hawkins was named to the 2010 second team at first base.

Hendrix's Ward, Gaglio Named to ABCA/Rawlings All-West Gold Glove Team
CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix College senior infielder Matt Gaglio former Warrior standout center fielder Daniel Ward were recently named to the America Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings West Region Gold Glove Team for their outstanding efforts in the 2009 season.

Oglethorpes Giordano, Sarisky honored by Georgia Dugout Club
ATLANTA, Ga. - In their September newsletter the Georgia Dugout Club named Oglethorpe head baseball coach Dan Giordano and former Oglethorpe pitcher Daniel Sarisky the 2009 Division III Georgia Coach and Player of the Year, respectively.

Bronson, Owen & Sarisky fairing well in first professional season
SUWANEE, Ga. - Former Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball standouts Evan Bronson, Hunter Owen and Daniel Sarisky each are fairing well in their first season in professional baseball. Bronson and Sarisky are currently in the New York-Penn League while Owen is in the independent United Baseball League.

Jake Martin Appointed Interim Head Baseball Coach at DePauw
GREENCASTLE, Ind. Jake Martin, who has served as DePauw's assistant baseball coach for the last six seasons, has been named the University's interim head baseball coach effective immediately. Martin had been the team's hitting instructor and recruiting coordinator. He takes over for Matt Walker who resigned on August 7.
