Iwasaki resigns as Austin College head baseball coach
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College head baseball coach Carl Iwasaki will be stepping down from that position to become the head coach at the University of Northern Colorado, it was announced today. Iwasaki recently completed his fifth season at the helm of the Kangaroos and leaves with a career record of 102-130.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named a record 1,077 student-athletes to the 2010 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. This year's total eclipsed last year's previous record of 1,029 student-athletes.

Trinity claims Sixth SCAC Baseball Title
MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Trailing 1-0 for most of the game, the Trinity University Tigers tied the DePauw University Tigers 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth and from there used a two run eighth inning rally to top the Indiana Tigers 3-1 and win the 2010 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The game of the week was highlighted by a most unlikely Hendrix win over Trinity on Feb. 27. Trailing 12-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the Warriors scored six runs to avoid a run-rule loss. The defending SCAC champions then scored five times to win the game in the bottom of the ninth.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The SCAC's two NCAA participants from 2009 started the 2010 baseball season in fashion as Hendrix (3-0) and Millsaps (3-0) combined to start 6-0 during the first week of play. All told, seven of the 11 SCAC teams began the season with Centre, DePauw, Rhodes and Sewanee set to start play before the end of the month.

SUWANEE, Ga. - In exclusive voting by the head coaches in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), Millsaps College was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2010 SCAC baseball championship. SUWANEE, Ga. - Former Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball standouts Evan Bronson, Hunter Owen and Daniel Sarisky each are fairing well in their first season in professional baseball. Bronson and Sarisky are currently in the New York-Penn League while Owen is in the independent United Baseball League.

Jake Martin Appointed Interim Head Baseball Coach at DePauw
GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Jake Martin, who has served as DePauw's assistant baseball coach for the last six seasons, has been named the University's interim head baseball coach effective immediately. Martin had been the team's hitting instructor and recruiting coordinator. He takes over for Matt Walker who resigned on August 7.
