Around The SCAC (Weekly Sports Recaps) - Week 1
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Competition got underway across the SCAC over the Labor Day weekend in the fall sports of men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.

FOOTBALL
Trinity University began right where it left off at the end of the
regular season last year as the Tigers rolled to a 56-7 season
opening win over Howard Payne. Meanwhile, Austin College jumped out
to a 16-3 lead over Texas Lutheran but could not hold off the
Bulldogs as the Kangaroos fell 38-16. Around the SCAC - Football (Week 1)
MEN'S SOCCER
Thanks to its win over ninth-ranked Texas-Tyler, Trinity University
took over the top spot in the first week's NSCAA/Continental Tire
top 25 poll. The Tigers (2-0) jumped up three spots from their
preseason ranking of fourth. Around the SCAC - Men's Soccer (Week 1)
WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's top three women's
soccer teams, the University of Dallas, Centenary College and
Trinity University are a combined 5-0-2 after the first weekend of
the 2012 season. Around the SCAC - Women's Soccer (Week 1)
VOLLEYBALL
The 22nd season of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
volleyball began the week of August 27-Sept. 2 and saw Colorado
